SH First aid training

The Head Trainer is Steve Hallam, qualified first aid trainer, trained in first aid with the West Midlands Ambulance service.
SH First Aid Training is a Accredited first aid training centre with Qualsafe, centre number 906150, we provide the following Accredited first aid courses

First Aid for Sport ( Ideal for Martial Arts Instructors )

Level 3 First aid at work

Level 3 Paediatric First Aid

Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid

HSE Approval
Following the recommendations contained in the Lofstedt report (2012) as of the 5th April 2013 the HSE no longer offer approval/accreditation to any training provider, this includes all of the 'big names' such as St John Ambulance and the Red Cross.
It is vitally important that you check the training you will receive serves the needs of your role.

Emergency First Aid at Work
This course will give you all the necessary first aid skills to deal with a whole range of sporting injuries and also for general use.

What they will learn ?

Basic life saving First Aid and how to deal with the type of injuries and medical emergencies that can happen during sporting activities.

Course content
~ Assembly & Introduction
~ The role of the First Aider
~ Managing and Dealing with Emergencies
~ The Priorities of First Aid
~ Communication and Casualty Care
~ Casualty Movement
~ Primary & Secondary Survey
~ Treatment of an unconscious casualty & the Recovery Position
~ Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
~ Recognition and treatment of regurgitation. Use of face shields
~ Choking, Bleeding, Eye Injuries, Head Injuries
~ Treatment of Shock, Cross infection
~ Treatment of Sprains, Strains, Dislocations & Fractures
~ Treatment of Strokes, Asthma, Epilepsy & Chest Pains
~ Burns & Scalds
~ Recording Incidents and First Aid Actions
~ Course evaluation and closure

Continuous assessment throughout the course to include CPR, dealing with unconsicous casualty, wounds and bleeding.


A Qualsafe First Aid certificate (registered with OFQUAL valid for three years), is issued on successful completion of the course.
However it is recommended that this is renewed every two years.

Level 2 Emergency First aid at work (1 Day Course) £50
Level 3 First aid at work (3 Day Course) £150
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (2 Day Course) £75
Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid (1 Day Course) £50

Accredited Prior Learning and Continued Professional Development
This qualification will also be accredited to the Martial Arts Instructor UK Training Programme.
